Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I am so delighted we went with the Ecovacs Goat. Some pertinent background; we live in Florida and let me tell you with our daily summer rainstorms our grass needs to be cut every 5 days or so. We only have grass in the front and on the sides of the house. The grass covers just under 1/4 acre.Set up out of the box was intuitive and pretty easy, in my opinion. I should note I do not consider myself exceptionally tech savvy either. I was able to sync with my home WiFi in under a minute. The unit updated for about 10 minutes and then it was time to sync with the satellites. The process was simple, the first time it only synced with 19 satellites but it was super easy to restart the process. The second time around I made sure I was more than 2 feet away. Worked like a charm!Once I had the unit synced with satellites. It was time to map our property. I found the process rather intuitive and honestly quite quick for what was taking place. After mapping was complete I let the robot charge to full and decided to run it for a cut. The robot did a beautiful job. Our lawn looked as good as if we had used the push mower ourselves.I really like that this ecovacs model doesn’t have a perimeter wire. I can’t imagine how time and energy intensive installing a perimeter wire might be. The real time GPS navigation is working flawlessly for us.Another cool feature is the LiDAR to detect obstacles and the subsequently avoid the obstacles. Our oldest son had left a hose out during a mow that we missed. The ecovacs robot avoided the hose thus saving us an expense replacing it.The ecovacs robot is surprisingly quiet, magnitudes upon magnitudes quieter than our push mower. It also has a zero cutting edge which actually works, we definitely will not have to edge every time we mow with how good this robot mows edges. The app is amazing and so easy to use. I can customize zones and schedule mowings all from the comfort of my house when I have a spare minute. Battery life was more than enough to finish mowing our whole lawn in one charge. Overall I am beyond delighted with the performance of this robot mower for all the reasons mentioned. I really did not find anything worthy of a complaint.

Customer Review: The Best robotic mower I ever seen!First , the packaging:It came very well packaged and organized, everything wrapped and put together in a way that makes it easy to unwrap and get going! The instructions:Super clear and easy to follow. Plus when you download the app you get a short guide that is easy to follow. At first it might look like a lot of parts but it’s really not bad at all. Took me 10 mins to put together. The calibration:I would say this was tricky at first but only because my backyard has a weird shape that at first it wasn’t connecting, but when I moved thing around it connected instantly. I think the robot has to be facing the stick thing in a certain way like shown in the picture. The functionality:It starts with the mapping and then it quickly starts mowing, the map is pretty precise and clear and you can make zones. The trimming is pretty close to perfect, it does the work in a very organized fashion missing barely any spot. I say almost because the first ran it missed a small area, but when I ran it again it took care of it.Bonus features:I love that you can track the progress real time and you can literally view the progress using a front camera that comes in a really good quality.Overall thoughts:I am very pleased with THE GOAT, it’s gonna save me a lot of time and energy and it’s definitely worth the price for me,

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: just upgraded to this machine and this thing is outstanding. everything worked perfectly right out of the box! i was worried about the hills in my yard but the awd handles slopes like it’s nothing. best part is the wire-free setup—the 3d lidar and ai mapping is super smart and didn’t take long to map out my whole property, honestly i never have to touch my lawn again lol, a huge time saver!

Customer Review: The thing that sold me on this was the over 20 minute video showing exactly how to train and use this. It addressed all of my questions and concerns.I wanted a robot mower with lidar or really good mapping equipment, because of my weirdly shaped and separate lawns. Now that I have mapped my lawns and used the mower, I have some thoughts.Pros: The hardware is very capable of driving itself. The software is great and pretty intuitive. It seems to do a decent job mowing the lawn.Cons: the wheel motors have insufficient torque, and because they’re rear wheel drive with low bumpers, it gets stuck on hills.Be warned, if you have some tall weeds like dandelions or grass patches that grow faster, you might need to disable the lidar obstacle recognition temporarily. Also, you might need to trim the lawn edges by hand.Overall, I’d say this is worth it for the right situation.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: The robot handles my yard beautifully and keeps the grass looking freshly mowed all week long. Each zone gets mowed 3-4 times per week, and the result is a consistent, well-manicured lawn with very little effort on my part. It does everything they say it does, and keeps the lawn looking perfect. I can even start it while I’m at work! It makes perfect lines and keeps the lawn very short for the spring growing season, and it keeps it short enough the dandelions don’t have a chance to sprout.I can tell you the most important part of getting these units to work is to follow directions as far as what distances you should be from walls, buildings and other obstacles in your yard. It is very important to make sure the charging pad is level and the distance of five feet of straight entry is allowed on both sides of the charger.

Customer Review: I’m incredibly impressed with this robotic lawn mower! The visual navigation technology is a game changer—it easily detects and distinguishes lawn grass, making mowing both efficient and effortless. The obstacle avoidance system works flawlessly; it smoothly navigates around objects, and the collision sensors ensure it quickly adjusts its path if it bumps into anything.I also love the adjustable cutting height feature. The manual knob makes it simple to set the perfect grass length for my yard, and the results are always neat and even. It works best on clear-boundary lawns, and I appreciate the flexibility of placing it manually in any spots it might miss.Overall, this mower has taken the hassle out of lawn care and given me beautifully maintained grass with minimal effort. A fantastic investment for anyone looking to simplify their yard work!

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Perfect, does high traffic areas last, very smart and affordable, if you do 2 sweep it gets everything, 1 sweep gets most things for me, I have two kids, and a dog. It’s amazing. Love the schedule option too I am currently out taking my dog to the groomers, no issues. Cleans very well. Super worth the price. 🤩I love how easy set up was, and how easy it was to use. And it really sucks up all sorts of stuff. You can make it very quiet, or if you need the extra power make it up to as loud as it goes, still not as loud as a traditional vacuum. Also mopped up muddy prints like nothing.

Customer Review: I bought this solely for my backyard and I only wish I’d bought it sooner! The set up was easy just a little time consuming but worth it. Mower does an amazing job and for the price if it would only last one summer it would be worth it.

Complete Buying Guide for Robot Lawn Mower With Bag

Essential Factors We Consider

When choosing the best robot lawn mower with a bag, we look at several key factors to ensure you get a quality product that meets your needs. Navigation technology is crucial; whether it’s GPS, RTK, or LiDAR, it dictates how accurately the mower maps and covers your lawn. We also assess obstacle avoidance systems, ensuring they are robust enough to protect your property and pets. Battery life is paramount for larger yards, determining if the mower can complete the job on a single charge. Finally, ease of use, including app control and setup complexity, plays a significant role in the overall user experience. For those seeking a bagged finish, the mower’s ability to collect clippings effectively is, of course, the primary concern.

Budget Planning

Robot lawn mowers with bagging capabilities can range in price. Basic models for smaller yards might be more budget-friendly, while advanced models with wire-free navigation, superior obstacle avoidance, and larger battery capacities will command a higher price. Consider your lawn size and the features you absolutely need. While a cheaper option might seem appealing, investing a bit more in a mower with better navigation and durability can save you frustration and potential repair costs down the line. Always factor in potential accessories or replacement parts when budgeting.

Final Thoughts

Selecting the right robot lawn mower with a bag involves balancing advanced technology with your specific lawn needs and budget. Features like wire-free navigation and sophisticated obstacle detection offer convenience, while a reliable bagging system ensures a clean finish. Consider your lawn’s size, terrain, and any unique challenges it presents. Ultimately, the goal is to find a mower that automates your lawn care, giving you more time to enjoy your yard rather than work on it. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do robot lawn mowers with bags exist?

A: Yes, while many robot lawn mowers are designed for mulching, some models offer bagging capabilities to collect grass clippings. This is particularly useful for those who prefer a very clean finish or need to manage thatch.

Q: How much maintenance do robot lawn mowers require?

A: Robot lawn mowers generally require less maintenance than traditional mowers. Regular tasks include cleaning the mower deck, checking and cleaning blades, and ensuring sensors are free of debris. The battery and charging contacts also need occasional attention. Some models, especially those with advanced navigation, might need periodic software updates or calibration.

Q: Can robot lawn mowers handle rough terrain or slopes?

A: Many modern robot lawn mowers are designed to handle slopes, with capabilities varying by model. Some can manage inclines up to 30-45%. For very rough terrain or steep hills, it’s essential to choose a model specifically designed for such conditions, like some of the best riding lawn mowers for steep hills, though these are not robotic. Always check the manufacturer’s specifications for slope handling.

Q: What is RTK positioning in robot lawn mowers?

A: RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) positioning uses a base station and GPS signals to achieve centimeter-level accuracy. This allows robot lawn mowers to navigate very precisely without the need for boundary wires, enabling efficient coverage and more complex lawn shapes.

Q: How do I set up a robot lawn mower with boundary wires?

A: Setting up boundary wires involves installing them around the perimeter of your lawn and any obstacles you want the mower to avoid. This typically includes burying or staking the wire. The process can be time-consuming but ensures the mower stays within the designated mowing area. For assistance with lawn edging, check out our guide on the best way to install DIY lawn edging.
