Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “Outstanding Quality on par with my traeger, in fact the screen is better. Temp has some big swings but it doesnt seem to matter in the end. Made pulled pork which was a big test. It took about 14 hours with an 8lb shoulder. Hopper needs to be fed roughly every 4 hours or so. Thats its biggest downfall. Its a smaller hopper but it does feed pellets slow. A bag lasts a long time. It puts off a bunch of smoke and takes up minimal space. Size is big enough to cook most things. It can even fit a dutch oven without the lid. Its crazy how good this preforms for the price. It has seen a ton of use and had zero issues thus far.”
Customer Review: “Great little smoker. Perfect for starting out and portable. Easy to clean this Cuisinart smoker really smokes and flavors the meat and can add a nice char.”

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “Well nothing last forever so when my tabletop Green Mountain Pellet Smoker started to fail I knew I needed to start the process for replacement. The Green Mountain served me well and although a little bulky it was a great piece of gear for my RV ever since I purchased it in 2018. When I started my search I knew exactly what I was looking for and after looking at many different brands and models I kept coming back to this Freedom Stoves Tabletop Pellet Smoker. The main criteria was the height of the grilling area since l like to smoke larger pieces of meat like Turkey Breasts, Prime Ribs, Pork Butts, etc – most of the smokers in this class have a very limited height restriction which may be great for burger and dogs but lack the room for those 6 – 12 pound roast or large fowl. The second criteria was the ability of smoker to hold temperature and this smoker has the tightest range of any of the portable pellet smokers that I’ve found 1 – 2 degrees is quite impressive. This is a quality smoker, the assembly was painless and I think I made a great choice for the RV after testing it out on a couple of prime bone-in ribs eyes and how I intend to use it, with it searing option I feel this may also replace my small Chargrill Charcoal Kamado Grill in the RV as well, I hope to find a padded carrying case to protect it and making transporting it a little easier at this time there are no OEM options available. I do like the dual temperature probes and that the hopper holds about 8.5 lbs of pellets ensuring hours of cooking time. This is a DC powered smoker which is something I’ve come to appreciate especially off grid but it does have the option to use AC power as well so it’s the best of both worlds. The clean-up is easy and all the parts that will get dirty are dishwasher safe, I’m really happy with this product and it’s the clear winner after watch the many side by side comparisons on YouTube in my opinion- it checks all the boxes and is a well engineered and built smoker so it should at least be considered if your looking for a high performing table-top pellet smoker…”
Customer Review: “*30 July 2025 update* I contacted the seller (Pellethead) about my two issues and had a VERY pleasant email conversation with a Customer Service Operations manager. This person wrote back the next business day, asking if I could send a picture; I had to be honest with her – told her I’d been messing with that drawer for over an hour, trying to get to move freely so I could shut it, but couldn’t find a single defect with it; it just refused to shut, so a picture to examine the damage would do no one any good – there just wasn’t any apparent damage. She wrote back the next day to say both parts were on the way, and she also mentioned she’d been talking with the manufacturing folks and they mentioned checking under to see if a loose screw could be binding the drawer. Checked, but that wasn’t the issue. The replacement drawer arrived today, and it fit like a glove; worked exactly like it was supposed to. I reckon the point is this – every company can have occasional manufacturing defects. It’s the companies that take your call or read your emails and pay attention to you; the ones that don’t respond with this AI customer service nonsense, and take the time to respond and to try to work with you to resolve the problem. Those are the firms that deserve your business. First, and most importantly, this a fantastic device for folks who have a limited outdoor space for a smoker. I’ve used it a dozen times since I purchased it June 30 2025, and it has delivered incredible results every time. Brisket, sausage, salmon, BBQ beans – all turned out to be the best versions of those foods I’ve ever produced. The diffuser is designed to open for direct heat for use as a grill, I haven’t taken advantage of that feature yet, so can’t comment on it’s effectiveness. Assembly instructions were a bit thin, but they were adequate. One issue with the storage drawer – it was very difficult to insert or even close fully. And once closed it’s nearly impossible to open again. First time operation was surprisingly smooth. The temperature controls are – for the most part – easy to operate, though setting up timed cooks can be a but tricky and a touch frustrating. But internal temperatures haven’t varied by more than a degree or two from my set temperature across the entire grill grate. The cooking area is spacious for a tabletop model, and the vertical cooking area is terrific. There were two defects in my unit. As I mentioned earlier, the storage drawer can.t freely slide, and there is a leak in the exterior grease/ash cup that allows grease to drip out onto floors. Now THAT’S a messy cleanup. The grill grate is really easy to clean. The diffuser is a heavy gauge steel which I’ve also found easy to remove and clean. There is a single design issue for me – there’s a guard placed so close to the temperature thermocouple that effectively prevents me from cleaning off the creosote buildup. I have to remove that guard in order to clean the sensor, which is a bit of a pain. Other than that, I found the interior pretty easy to clean. Overall, though, I feel this is an exceptional device for smaller applications in a limited area. The two defects and the difficulty in cleaning the thermocouple are the reasons I limited my review to 4 stars.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the main advantage of a pellet grill?
A: The primary advantage of a pellet grill is its ability to produce authentic wood-smoked flavor with minimal effort. They are also very user-friendly, offering precise temperature control similar to an oven, making them great for both beginners and experienced cooks.
Q: Are pellet grills good for searing?
A: Some pellet grills are better at searing than others. While many operate at lower temperatures ideal for smoking, higher-end models or those with dedicated searing zones can reach temperatures high enough to properly sear steaks and other meats. Always check the grill’s maximum temperature specifications.
Q: How much pellet fuel does a grill use?
A: Pellet consumption varies based on the grill’s efficiency, the ambient temperature, and the set cooking temperature. Generally, you can expect to use about 1-2 pounds of pellets per hour at smoking temperatures (around 225°F). Higher temperatures will consume pellets more quickly.
Q: Can I use my pellet grill in the rain?
A: Most pellet grills are designed to withstand some outdoor elements, but it’s generally not recommended to operate them in heavy rain or severe weather. The electrical components can be sensitive to excessive moisture, and heavy rain can affect temperature stability.
Q: What’s the difference between a pellet grill and a smoker?
A: A pellet grill uses wood pellets as fuel to both cook and impart smoke flavor, often with digital temperature control. A traditional smoker typically uses wood chunks or chips for smoke and charcoal or gas for heat, often requiring more hands-on temperature management.
